Final update...
Completely removed old OS and reformatted HDD and reinstalled latest Linux Mint 20.2
Everything works well and I no longer have the machine hanging constantly.
A very happy bunny - thanks for all your help and suggestions

Re: Loading standard templates in Qnewb 8.4
Hi Pablo
Thanks for your reply. Problem solved as far as the template is concerned......must RTFM!
Neither autosave or backup are selected so my original problem continues and I think it must be a hardware problem.
Many thanks again

Re: Loading standard templates in Qnewb 8.4
Immediately on loading, the program freezes - no clues as to what might be happening. Strange because my own qwb files load. The only other issue I have is that the software hangs from time to time, randomly, when I am working on a file. I am wondering if the memory I have is breaking down somewhere...

Loading standard templates in Qnewb 8.4
Hi
I am having problems in loading templates into the latest version of Qnewb. These templates loaded quite happily into v.7
Is this a known issue or is it something to do with my installation/OS Linux Mint 20.2
Thanks
Keith

Re: Checkbox
Thanks Pablo and I understand that if the checkbox is unchecked then nothing is returned. However, even when my checkboxes are checked, there is still no information returned. The editboxes all work well - just the checkbox information is missing. I have followed the manual information to avoid the ...

Checkbox
Hi I have created a form using the form wizard. The form contains editboxes and two checkboxes. The form wizard has all the boxes included in the inital creation. When the form is submitted (by email) to me the values of the editboxes are shown but not the checkboxes. I have the checkboxes intial st...

Using Google Fonts
Hi Are you able to point me in the direction of a tutorial that will help the installation of Google fonts in v8.4 using Linux Mint. It seems I should be downloading the fonts to a specific folder (that exists in Windows) that I cannot find in Mint. The tutorial I have read suggests that downloading...

Re: CMS design
Brilliant - thank you. Really helpful.
Just by the way, having tried all the editors in Qnewb, I think I have found Trumbowyg to be the better one for my use.
Thanks again

Re: CMS design
Thanks - and I understand these are third party providers for whom you cannot be responsible. However, it seems to me that Summernote, in my particular implementation is not proving to be very stable, and I cannot rely upon it for my users. Do you have a view over the other suggested editors as to w...

Re: CMS design
Hi Pablo I think I now have the measure of the CMS element - at least as far as usage and with no additional coding. I have tried all the various editor options and the only one I can get to function well enough for my needs is Summernote. My problem is that I want to add images to the website via t...

CMS design
Hi I am trying to incorporate the CMS extension. I have successfully connected to my host MySQL and can log on to the CMS Where I am confused is how I implement it. Do I have a separate website for my users to edit and change content on their main site, or can I incorporate it in the main site but k...

Re: Panel Menu
I was using redirect because the content and menu selections are sometimes different for the big screen and mobile. However, with the insight you have given me Ithink I can revert to the usual model.
Thanks Pablo - every little bit helps

Re: Panel Menu
Got it!
Thats really helpful. I have a main website that redirects to the "mobile" one; but I didn't realise I needed the default view as a matter of course.
Thank you
Keith
