Re: Contact form

Much better Keith. BT 'superfast broadband' here is anything up to 1Mb/s but typically less than that. It was stopping the contact page working here until the images had loaded, the background text was over the form area. Not sure if that was your original problem though but it is better anyway. Re: Contact form

On a super slow internet connection here. You really need to shrink the image file sizes, the page looked horrible, especially around the contact form until the images had finished loading. It took about 30 seconds here. The big one is over 500K in size.

Re: Objects position randomly

Using Firefox under Linux here and it looks a mess. Z order is wrong on some images so some scroll under the menu bar and some scroll over it. Also see duplicate blocks at the end of some very long pages. If it is responsive, the break points are non-standard.

Re: 404 error page - how to switch on

'404' means the web page isn't there so there is nothing you can add to it to produce the message!
It's a server configuration issue, you will have to contact your provider although it's unusual for them not to show the message or some advert instead of it automatically.

Re: Sitemap

I can see the 'sitemap.xml' here but no 'robots.txt' file. If you have a google webmaster account they should send you a file (or instructions to create one) with a special name, something like 'google123456789.html' which you have to upload to your web site manually. I suggest you do that if you ha...

Re: Form not sending email or going to success page

Keith, you really need to scale the images!

The two photographs are over 5Mb each and took over 1 minute to completely show on my admittedly poor broadband connection.

Re: My new site about tshirts/hoodies/sweaters etc

The English version has lots of spelling mistakes but generally it looks very good!

Re: Colors can not be selected

I had not noticed before but I can confirm what Blitzer wrote. The correct windows are opened but the 'color wheel' one is obscured by the swatch.
For reference, I'm using version 5.2.4 under Kubuntu 17.10 and Nvidia video drivers.

Re: Operating Systems

We must be 0.5% each Keith - it works wonderfully here under Kubuntu too.
Just wish more of the Windows extensions were available so I can migrate all my web sites to the linux version. I have to keep a VM copy of Windows just to maintain legacy sites.

Re: Smal test form fails

If you have already published a page with HTML don't forget to delete it from the server. Most, if not all, browsers when they see two pages of the same name will load the HTML one in preference to the PHP one. That means any changes you make to the PHP page will be uploaded correctly to the server ...

Re: contact form

My guess is you didn't remove the HTML version from the server so it is still there along with the newly published PHP version. When seeing both names, your browser will have a preference of one over the other so it is still showing the original HTML version. If it's there, delete contact.html so on...

Thank you for confirming my sanity Pablo.

lots of Newswriter pages

For a regional community project I've been asked to provide a simple CMS for each of about 30 towns. The web site functions nicely at the moment so this is something to be added to an existing project. For organizational reasons, I don't want all the newswriter databases in a flat file structure, I'...

Re: program lockup?

I'm not using the Mac version but as I understand the problem, a simple click without dragging to a box, on the workspace creates a box with zero dimensions and that's what causes the confusion. Suggestion, default to a small box when clicking in the workspace, one obvious enough to see, maybe 10x10...
