404 error page - how to switch on

Post by DoctorWeb »

I was advised to
"ensure that your site returns a 404 HTTP error status"
but cant fins any mention of this in the HELP documentattion. I cant find anything in the prefs to toggle this on or off,
how do I ensure my sites return the 404 reason for errors?

I also cant find where to switch on GZP compression, but was sure I saw this in an earlier version, ages ago. v 2 maybe ??
Do we no longer need it now?

This has nothing to do with the application. This is server configuration.

'404' means the web page isn't there so there is nothing you can add to it to produce the message!
It's a server configuration issue, you will have to contact your provider although it's unusual for them not to show the message or some advert instead of it automatically.
