WB7 editing text

Post by Ton »

Hi, thanks for WB7, it has some great new feautures.
But I have a problem editing textfields. When I click in the text and try to type some text, the existing text gets messed up. The cursor is also not always visible. It's a bit hard to explain, best to try it yourself. I have tried it on Mac OS High Sierra and Mac OS Mojave.

There are no known issues with text. The text editor has not been changed in QWB7.
Can you please describe exactly how to reproduce this behavior?

Create Text and click somewhere in de default text 'Double click to edit', try to move the cursor with the arrow keys on your keyboard (the cursor then disappears) and then try to type some text (you see half an extra line of the same text).

Can I paste an image here? That would make it easier to explain.

I think it is related to the scaling of the (retina) display.
I will investigate if I can reproduce this.

The problem should now be fixed in version 7.0.3

Note: this update is for the Mac only.

This has been a huge problem I have fought with since last year -
When I click into a block of text, the cursory will only go to the end of the para, and I have to use the arrows to move it, very tedious as my paras are quite long, and while Im busy clicking away, the text suddenly gets very jumbled and shoots outside the box, so making even the tiniest changes means a lengthy period of trial and error getting the cursor at the right place in the text.

I just spotted that I am running v 7.0.2,
so I have tried to do an update to 7.2.2,
However that seems impossible to simply upgrade; apparently I must close down, but how do I upgrade then. Or should I simply reload the whole package ?

Thanks guys
Ive done that,
I opened one of my sites, and it let me edjiut text. All fine
Now I opened another site, a .qwb, but it spins the beach ball minute and then shows me a small window saying Error Load.
This is a site I was working on just a few hours ago and it opened fine under 7.0.2,

Is there any way I can get the pages back to work on? Its about 30 odd pages of responsive sites, ie about 150 p[ages in total. I would hate top have to rebuild them. Or can I get a .qwb black from the host server in some way?

Many thanks

All your projects should work with the latest update
To be able to help you with this, I need a copy of the project file.

Am happy to send the project file, but it says its 11MB (Strange that, all my other sites are about 300k max).
Im not sure if it will go down this conduit to you,

I can put it onto a We Transfer for you to download perhaps?

Thanks to those who helped, especially Pablo. The problem was in the Permissions, and trying to access the qwb file on iCloud. I added extra permissions to the file, and put it in the same folder as the 'content graphic sources', and it loaded fine.
Im so grateful.
