When setting preferences in the Publish tab, are they only for the site you have open, if you have one, or if no site is open, they are for all websites created after?

You can create a publish profile for each website. Just make sure you give each profile a different name.

Maybe I did not make myself clear. I am talking about the Publish tab in Preferences.

When you add more file types and name a folder for those file type.

These settings are stored in the project file, so each project can have different settings. They are also used for new projects.

So, if no project is open then updating these preferences will affect all projects afterwards and if a project is open, then these preferences only affect that project.

If no project is open then the settings will be the default for new projects. It will not affect existing projects.
